This Privacy Policy describes how Fisher Phillips Safety Solutions (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the FPSS Smart mobile application (the “App”) for Android and iOS.
We value your privacy. We store user data but never distribute or sell it to anyone. We only use your data to operate and improve the App and to provide the services you request.
1) Data We Collect
Depending on how you use the App, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Account & Profile Data: name, email address, username, profile photo, password or authentication tokens.
- App Content & Activity: content you create or upload, preferences, in‑app actions, interactions with features and other users.
- Device & Usage Data: device model, OS version, unique identifiers (e.g., advertising ID/device ID), IP address, app version, crash logs, performance and diagnostic data.
- Communications: messages you send to support, feedback, and other communications with us.
- (Optional) Location Data: coarse or precise location only if you grant permission for features that require it. You can disable location sharing in your device settings at any time.
- (Optional) Contacts/Camera/Photos/Microphone: used only to power specific features you choose. Access can be revoked in your device settings.
Note: If you use third‑party sign‑in (e.g., Apple, Google), we receive the basic profile details those services share per your settings.
2) How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features.
- Authenticate you and secure your account.
- Personalize your experience, including settings and recommendations.
- Monitor performance, fix bugs, and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Respond to your requests, feedback, or support inquiries.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We may use trusted service providers (processors) to help operate the App (for example: cloud hosting, analytics, crash reporting, customer support tools). Processors are given access to data only as necessary to perform services on our behalf and must follow strict confidentiality and security obligations.
3) No Sale or Distribution
We do not sell, rent, lease, or otherwise distribute your personal information to third parties. We also do not share your data for cross‑context behavioral advertising (a “sale” or “sharing” under certain US state privacy laws).
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or Fisher Phillips Safety Solutions. If we engage in a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, we will notify you and ensure your data remains protected per this Policy.
4) Legal Bases (GDPR/UK GDPR)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on these legal bases:
- Contract: to provide the App and services you request.
- Legitimate Interests: to maintain and improve the App, secure our services, and prevent misuse—balanced against your rights and expectations.
- Consent: for optional features (e.g., precise location, notifications) where required. You can withdraw consent at any time in the App or device settings.
- Legal Obligation: to comply with applicable law.
5) Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described above, unless a longer retention is required or permitted by law. When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.
6) Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7) International Transfers
If you access the App from outside the country where our servers are located, your data may be processed in jurisdictions that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home region. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information.
8) Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights such as:
- Access, correction, update, or deletion of your personal data.
- Portability of your data.
- Restriction or objection to certain processing.
- Withdrawal of consent for optional features at any time.
- Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
For US residents, certain state laws (e.g., California CCPA/CPRA, Virginia VCDPA, Colorado CPA, Connecticut CTDPA, Utah UCPA) provide rights to access, delete, correct, and opt out of targeted advertising or profiling. Because we do not sell your data, “Do Not Sell or Share” requests are not applicable to our current practices.
To exercise your rights, contact us at support@fpss.app. We may ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
9) Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required by your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
10) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the App and revise the “Effective date” at the top. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice as required by law.
